I find people buy more if the first price they see is lower regardless of what is added after that. I have tried free shipping versus a price plus shipping and people always pay more total with price plus shipping. Some people can ad and go for lower total price but most just buy and don't think.
Agree. i think people always forget that after adding everything else that you pay on ebay, like promoted listing and any other promoted if more then one is used, ends up being alot more then poshmark which charges 20%, if your not using promoted closet of course.
My eBay fee is at 15.4% currently. I don't promote, and I use calculated shipping so, I make a little from the shipping to help pay with fees. Nowhere near 50%
Call me an optimist but I think this will work out just fine for sellers. Mercari's fees (buyers) are overall higher. Sellers will still pay the 3.3% + $.45 per listing on DePop, and the buyers up to 5%. As for pricing lower, the kids on DePop rarely pay full price anyway--they want offers and deals. The UK's been doing this for six months, so we keep an eye on their message boards and see how they've adapted. Time to experiment so we can move forward accordingly. 😀
@MysticAssistant oh, I didn't kno they were already doing this in the UK and yes I seen that sellers will still pay the 3.3%. I don't get many sales on Depop but if this increases my sales and buyer are fine with it then I'm okay with it.
Hi there! I have a question. I am a depop seller and it seems depop requires "Brand" when listing items. How do I bypass this because I resell vintage items and some of these brands aren't found on the depop list of brands. Please help because I don't know where to ask this question on the depop support. Thanks in advance.
@chelseacollins3782 I wouldn't for your old listings since the seller fee would still apply. You can always delist and relist with either keep the price the same or lower it to entice buyers to buy or send an offer. The zero seller fee applies only to new listings made on the 15th and after.
I used to sell at least a few things a week on Mercari before they made the change. Now I’ve sold 4 items on Mercari in… how long has it been since the change? A few months, I think. 4 sales in a few months. This makes me REALLY nervous for my Depop sales. Honestly my heart sank when I saw change this morning.

I tried the free shipping and paid shipping and people dont seem to mind paying the shipping, as long as its reasonable of course.
ebay keeps almost 50% when you count all of the fees including shipping that they mark up and advertising fees.

If Depop doesn't have the brand, just do this. #Depop #resellercommunity #depopseller
Why are they doing this? I am not understanding this new trends. I guess i need to sell on Mercari again??? 🤦🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️
@@vintage_alexandreaaa no idea. Just like Mercari, no explanation is given as to why this trend is happening.
I wonder if we’ll have to price lower now?
